About Entry
- I’m considering participating in the Fuji Mountain Race for the first time. Can I enter the Summit Course?

General participants must meet the eligibility requirements to enter the Summit Course. This includes having passed the Fifth Station checkpoint (or finished at the Fifth Station) within the specified time in any of the past three races. Therefore, first-time participants must register for one of the following events. Special consideration based on other race records will not be provided.

After the registration deadline, eligibility screening will be conducted by the event office (Entry Center). If it is found that you do not meet the qualifications, your registration will be invalidated. Please note that your entry cannot be switched to the Fifth Station Course. For more details on eligibility requirements, refer to the event guidelines.
- How do I register for the event?

- hat are the entry fees and registration periods?

- Participation Fees
- Summit Course: ¥18,000
- Fifth Station Course: ¥14,000
- Payment methods can be selected through Run Japan (transaction fees are borne by the registrant).
- If you register for the Summit Course without meeting the qualifications, you will not be able to participate, and the participation fee will not be refunded.
- Registration Period
- Start: Monday, March 24, 2025, at 9:00 PM
- Deadline: Monday, April 7, 2025, at 9:00 PM
- Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. If spots remain, additional registrations may be opened.
- Will I get a refund if I cancel due to health issues or other reasons after registering?
- No refunds will be given for cancellations due to personal reasons after the registration deadline.
- How can I get the participant brochure?
- No brochures will be created. Refer to the event guidelines on the official website.
- What is the participant limit?

- Summit Course: 1,900 participants
- Fifth Station Course: 1,876 participants
Total: 3,776 participants
- Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis if the limit is exceeded.
- How will I be notified of my confirmed participation after registering on Run Japan?
- Confirmation notifications will not be sent. Those who meet the qualifications after the screening process will be notified via email by the end of April. Ensure that the sender’s domain ‘@runpassport.jp’ is whitelisted in your email settings.
- Can I change the event category or get a refund after registering?
- Changes to the event category are not accepted after registration. Additionally, no refunds will be given for cancellations after payment.
- What does “General Registration Affiliation” mean?
- This refers to your school, company, or club name. If the name exceeds nine characters, it may be truncated or altered by the organizer. Providing this information is optional.
- Will race bibs and other items be sent out beforehand?
- No. These will be distributed during check-in on the day before the race.
- How can I confirm my registration?
- Check the “Entry History” section on your “My Page.”
- Who should I contact for entry-related inquiries?

After Entry
- Is the race check-in only available on the race day?
- Yes, check-in is only available on the race day. Please take note.
- Is there a waiting list for cancellations?
- No, we do not accept waiting list registrations. Thank you for your understanding.
- I moved after applying. How can I update my address?
- You can update your information on “My Page.”
Race-Related Information
- How is the starting lineup determined?
- Athlete bib numbers are assigned based on the fastest 5th Station checkpoint time from the past three races (75th, 76th, and 77th editions). Participants are then arranged into blocks according to their bib numbers. The start order follows the assigned blocks in principle.
- Are there water stations along the course?
- The Mt. Fuji Mountain Race takes place during midsummer, and unexpected extreme heat may occur. Water stations will be provided along the course. The long uphill climb can lead to dehydration without notice, so please hydrate early when you feel thirsty. The locations of water stations will be announced on the official website once finalized.
- Can I place a special drink (personal hydration or food) at the water stations?
- Due to operational constraints, special drinks will not be handled. Water and other beverages will be available at the water stations.
- Are there toilets along the course?
- Toilets are available at temporary parking areas, the start area (temporary toilets), and mountain huts along the course (usage fees may apply).
- Are there kilometer markers along the course?
- No, kilometer markers, like those in regular road races, are not provided.
- How is race timing recorded?
- Timing is measured using an RS tag provided at check-in.
- Will I receive a finisher certificate on the day of the race?
- No, finish certificates will not be mailed. They will be available only in electronic format.
- Is there a time limit for the race?

Yes, each course has checkpoint cut-off times and finish line time limits as follows:
- Summit Course
- No cut-off time at Umagaeshi
- 5th Station (Sato-goya) cut-off: 9:15 AM
- 8th Station (Fuji-san Hotel) cut-off: 11:00 AM
- Summit finish time limit: 11:30 AM
- 5th Station Course
- Umagaeshi checkpoint cut-off: 10:30 AM
- 5th Station finish time limit: 12:00 PM
Only participants who reach the finish line within these time limits are considered finishers. If the Summit Course is shortened due to bad weather, alternative rules will be set.
- What happens if I cannot finish within the time limit?
- If you fail to pass a checkpoint or finish within the time limits, you must stop the race immediately and descend the mountain. Since many general hikers use the mountain trail, please use the designated descent route without disturbing them. After the race, follow the same manners as general hikers and refrain from running while descending.
- What should I do if I feel unwell while running?

The Mt. Fuji Mountain Race is much tougher than a regular road race due to extreme elevation and temperature changes. If you feel unwell, injured, or unable to continue, move to a safe location at the side of the course. Notify the nearest medical runner, race staff, or aid station personnel. If you cannot continue, seek medical assistance at the nearest aid station and follow their instructions.
Medical personnel (doctors, nurses, paramedics) have the authority to stop participants from continuing the race (Stop Authority). Please follow their instructions. Medical treatment, including medication, is provided under the responsibility of the Medical Committee of the Mt. Fuji Mountain Race.
- Stop Authority: Medical staff have the right to forcibly withdraw a participant from the race if they determine it necessary for safety reasons.
Criteria for withdrawal include:- Signs of shock
- Impaired consciousness (including disorientation)
- Severe dehydration
- Severe hypoglycemia
- Other conditions deemed unsafe for continuing
There are seven designated aid stations along the course:

Additionally, there are two general aid stations available for hikers:

- Stop Authority: Medical staff have the right to forcibly withdraw a participant from the race if they determine it necessary for safety reasons.
- Are there pacers?
- No, since this is a mountain race, there are no pacers.
- Can I enter if I need a guide runner?
- Due to the rough and steep nature of the mountain trail, as well as the presence of general hikers, runners requiring a guide must refrain from entering the race.

- How can I access the venue?

Fujiyoshida City Hall (Opening Ceremony & Start Area)

- Get off at Getsueiji Station (Fujikyuko Line) → 15-min walk

There is no parking available at the venue. Illegally parked cars will be towed at the owner’s expense.
Only participants who select “car” as their transportation option will receive a parking permit. Please park in the designated lot (fee: ¥500). Shuttle buses will transport participants to the venue. The parking permit will be sent via email, so please print it and display it in your vehicle.
- Where can I find traffic restriction information?
- A traffic restriction map will be posted on this website in early July.
- Can you recommend accommodations?

On Race Day
- Are there changing rooms and baggage storage?

No changing rooms will be provided. Please arrive in your race attire.
Baggage storage is available at the city hall courtyard. Attach the number sticker to the designated plastic bag provided at check-in and drop off your items.- 20L green bag →

Make sure to drop off your baggage at least 20 minutes before your start time. Do not leave your belongings in public areas, as this may cause inconvenience to others. The event organizers are not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please manage your valuables yourself.
- What should I wear and prepare for the race?
- Due to the high altitude and steep terrain, prepare for cold and unexpected conditions. Barefoot running and inappropriate attire (such as only wearing underwear or fundoshi) are prohibited.
- Will food and drinks be available for purchase at the venue?
- Yes, food and drink vendors are planned.
- What benefits do finishers receive?
- Summit Course finishers will receive a finisher’s award, which will be mailed later.
